"12th Textile Industry Cooperation Conference" Held
The Korea Federation of Textile Industries announced on the 23rd that it held the "12th Korea-Japan-China Textile Industry Cooperation Conference" together with the Japan Federation of Textile Industries and the China National Textile and Apparel Council at the Signiel Hotel in Busan from September 22 to 24.
The conference was attended by more than 100 representatives, business leaders, and experts from the textile and fashion industries of Korea, Japan, and China. They discussed key issues and cooperation measures, including the outlook for industrial textiles, carbon neutrality and sustainability, as well as the current state of global trade and supply chain collaboration.

View original imageThe first agenda item was sharing the current status and outlook of the textile industries in the three countries. Soryeong Joo, Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of Textile Industries, Akimoto Uchikawa, Chairman of the Japan Chemical Fibers Association, and Yingxin Xu, Vice Chairman of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, addressed the textile and fashion industry trends and global trade issues in their respective countries.
The Korea Federation of Textile Industries explained the potential of the industrial textile sector and introduced advanced industrial materials from Doowon and Songwol Technology. In a special session, fashion tech companies such as Raonbird, Liveforward, and Yunhoe demonstrated new technologies including 3D lookbooks, textile digital twins, and digital product passports (DPP).
Byungoh Choi, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Textile Industries, stated, "Although the global textile and fashion industry is facing a complex crisis due to climate change, protectionism, and supply chain risks, this also presents new opportunities for our industry to make a leap forward." He proposed sustainable innovation, AI-based industrial advancement, and supply chain cooperation as the three core tasks for trilateral collaboration.
Chairman Choi added, "Marking the 50th anniversary of the Korea Federation of Textile Industries this year, we will use the growth of the past half-century as a foundation to leap into the next 50 years. Through active exchanges with global partners such as Japan and China, we aim to lead technological breakthroughs and trends."

The three countries agreed to pursue practical cooperation tasks such as joint R&D, expert exchanges, and nurturing next-generation leaders through this conference. The next "13th Korea-Japan-China Textile Industry Cooperation Conference" is scheduled to be held in Japan in 2027.
