[Click e-Stock] "Studio Dragon to Benefit Most if Hallyu Ban Is Lifted"
On September 23, Daishin Securities stated that Studio Dragon is the company to watch most closely if the Chinese government lifts the Hallyu ban (restrictions on Korean pop culture).
Kim Hoejae, a researcher at Daishin Securities, explained, "If Studio Dragon sells about 70 titles from its library over the past three years at 500 million won per title, it would generate an additional 35 billion won in revenue." He added, "Assuming the simultaneous supply of two titles for broadcast, and applying a 70% recoupment rate based on a tentpole (highly anticipated) production with a production cost of 30 billion won, 42 billion won can be reflected in next year's performance estimates."
Kim projected that "Studio Dragon is expected to achieve 140 billion won in revenue in the third quarter of this year," analyzing that "this is an increase of 51% compared to the same period last year."
He emphasized, "Currently airing shows such as 'The Tyrant's Chef' and 'President Shin Project' are gaining popularity," and added that "high profitability is expected."
