View original imageOn September 22, just over two weeks before Chuseok, Korea's traditional harvest festival, the "Generational Empathy, Fun-Filled Traditional Folk Games" event was held at the auditorium and outdoor lawn plaza of Gwangju Hyoryeong Senior Welfare Town (hereafter referred to as Hyoryeong Town), bringing together the first and third generations.
This event, organized by Hyoryeong Town and the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, was designed as a space for harmony where the first and third generations could interact, communicate, and reflect on the value of traditional culture.
More than 200 people attended, including Kim Jingoo, Director of the Gwangju Office of Education Cooperation Promotion Center, Hyoryeong Town members, local residents, students from Seosan Elementary School (Principal: An Jinhong), and children from the National Public Hillstate Yeonje Daycare Center (Director: Seo Jiyu).
The "Our Dance Performance Team," composed of Hyoryeong Town members, presented the "Hangangsu Taryeong" performance, followed by a lively and adorable dance by the daycare children, further highlighting the spirit of generational empathy. All participants received commemorative pouches containing traditional sweets as souvenirs.
