View original imageOn September 22, Jeonnam Province held a commitment event at the provincial government office for the successful hosting of the LPGA BMW Ladies Championship. The event was attended by Governor Kim Youngrok, representatives from the food, lodging, and tourism industries of six cities and counties in the southwestern region, students from Hampyeong Golf High School, sports officials, and about 200 participants in total.
On this day, representatives of the restaurant and lodging industries in the southwestern region of Jeonnam read a resolution, pledging, "We will create a Jeonnam that visitors will want to return to by welcoming them with kindness and smiles, so that they leave with lasting impressions."
Choi Kyungju, a professional golfer from Jeonnam who has achieved eight PGA Tour victories, sent a video message saying, "Thanks to the support of the people of Jeonnam, I have been able to take on the world stage with confidence," and added, "Congratulations on hosting the only official LPGA Tour event in Korea in my hometown, the beautiful Jeonnam."
Governor Kim Youngrok stated, "The LPGA BMW Ladies Championship is a golden opportunity to showcase the charms of Jeonnam to the world," and continued, "I ask all residents to join forces so that Jeonnam becomes a global destination, sharing our unique cuisine, culture, and warm-hearted spirit with visitors from around the world."
