Gyeonggi Province Introduces Innovative Administration Based on Sovereign AI, a First Among Local Governments

Gyeonggi Province will participate in the "G-BIO WEEK X AI CONNECT with G-FAIR 2025" held at Suwon Convention Center from September 22 to 24, and for the first time among local governments, will operate the "Sovereign AI-Based Gyeonggi AI Innovative Administration Promotion Booth."

Sovereign AI refers to the development and operation of independent artificial intelligence technology by a specific country or institution, based on its own data, infrastructure, and personnel.

Gyeonggi Province plans to implement its own stable AI platform through such sovereign AI, without relying on overseas platforms.

Gyeonggi Province will operate the "Sovereign AI-Based Gyeonggi AI Innovative Administration Promotion Booth" for the first time among local governments at the "G-BIO WEEK X AI CONNECT with G-FAIR 2025" held at Suwon Convention Center from the 22nd to the 24th. Provided by Gyeonggi Province

The promotion booth is composed of five zones to share Gyeonggi Province's AI administrative vision with residents and allow them to directly experience the changes that artificial intelligence will bring to administrative services: ▲Gyeonggi Province Sovereign AI promotional video ▲Data-based real-time service demonstrations ▲Introduction of AI innovative administration services ▲Introduction of the national large language model (LLM) ▲Experience zone for AI voice and translation technology.

Ko Youngin, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Gyeonggi Province is the first local government to establish an AI administrative innovation system based on sovereign AI," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity for the public to witness Gyeonggi Province's sovereign AI environment, which is being introduced for the first time, and to experience the future of evolving AI administration together."
