Sempio announced on September 22 that it has launched 'Joseon Galbi Marinade' and 'Joseon Bulgogi Marinade' ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Galbijjim (braised short ribs) and bulgogi are staple dishes for holidays and birthdays. In the Korean seasoning market, soy sauce-based marinades for these two dishes have long been mainstream. However, consumers have pointed out that many products on the market are overly sweet and lack depth of flavor. After more than a decade of research and development, Sempio has introduced two types of 'meat marinades' that deliver rich umami without the need for any additional seasoning.
'Sempio Joseon Galbi Marinade' and 'Sempio Joseon Bulgogi Marinade' reinterpret the wise cooking methods of ancestors in a modern way, using high-quality ingredients. Various types of soy sauce-including Sempio brewed soy sauce, Korean-style soy sauce, and soy sauce concentrate-are blended in optimal ratios. A subtle sweetness is achieved with rice syrup made by fermenting rice with nuruk, following the traditional malted grain method.
'Joseon Galbi Marinade' also includes ingredients such as ginseng, jujube, ginger, and radish. 'Joseon Bulgogi Marinade' applies the traditional grilling technique of Maekjeok, which dates back to the Goguryeo era. The savory flavor of fermented soybean paste is enhanced with beef shank broth, bringing out the natural taste of the meat.
