The Gyeongnam East Branch of the Korea Industrial Safety Association recently held a "Major Accident Prevention Safety Seminar" at the Yangsan Safety and Health Education Center for safety managers from workplaces in the Yangsan, Gimhae, and Miryang regions.

View original imageThe seminar, held on September 18, was attended by safety managers from more than 70 workplaces, including Sungwoo Hitech. Kwon Guhyung, head of the Yangsan Branch of the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office, delivered a special lecture on "New Government Industrial Safety Measures and Strategies to Eradicate Major Accidents."
Director Kwon introduced the "Comprehensive Labor Safety Measures" announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on September 15, emphasizing the need to strengthen the role of safety managers in line with changing industrial safety policies. He stated, "To eradicate major accidents, it is essential to establish a safety and health management system and to continuously identify and improve harmful and hazardous factors through joint participation by labor and management."
The seminar also pointed out that, despite the establishment and implementation of industrial safety policies, major accidents still frequently occur in the field. It was emphasized that, in addition to legal and institutional measures, it is necessary to enhance workers' safety awareness.
