Police Refer Kim Dongwon to Prosecution for 'Gwanak-gu Pizza Restaurant Stabbing'
Kim Dongwon (41), who is accused of killing three people with a weapon at a franchise pizza restaurant in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, has been handed over to the prosecution.
The Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on the morning of the 19th that Kim Dongwon (41), who is facing murder charges, has been formally arrested and referred to the prosecution.
According to the police investigation, Kim committed the crime out of dissatisfaction with repair issues following interior construction work. It was found that he hid the weapon inside the store a day before the incident and covered the store's CCTV cameras just before committing the crime.
Kim is accused of killing three people, including a headquarters employee and a contractor and his daughter, with a weapon from the kitchen at the franchise pizza restaurant he operated in Jowon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, on September 3.

Immediately after the crime, Kim attempted to take his own life, sustained injuries, and received treatment at a hospital for a week. After being discharged, he was arrested and detained by the police.
