Korean Dramas and Entertainment Shows Go Global with First "Series On Board" Event in Seoul
Thirteen Production Companies and About Eighty Overseas Buyers Participate
The Korea Creative Content Agency successfully held the "2025 Series On Board: Seoul" event at COEX in Seoul on the 18th.
View original imageThe Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency held the "Series On Board: Seoul" for the first time at COEX in Seoul on the 18th, in conjunction with the international broadcasting and video market (BCWW).
The event brought together thirteen production companies, including EOCONTENTSGROUP, WHYNOTMEDIA, and ASTORY, along with about eighty overseas buyers, who participated in one-on-one consultations and customized networking sessions.
Kim Doyeon, CEO of Studio Target, said, "We were able to concretize the discussions that have been ongoing overseas on the domestic stage," adding, "This will serve as a turning point leading to joint development and production." Mika Morishita, Director of the Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) in Japan, stated, "I attended both the Tokyo and Seoul events," and expressed hope that "Korean and Japanese production companies will expand their opportunities for joint production."
Series On Board is a program that introduces domestic broadcasting and video IP to overseas markets and expands cooperative networks. Previously, it was held in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, as well as Bangkok, Thailand. In Japan, 201 consultations led to deals worth 124.3 billion won, while in Thailand, 117 consultations resulted in deals worth 54.2 billion won.
This program will also be held in Madrid, Spain on the 30th, and in London, United Kingdom in November.
