Paju City Begins Influenza Vaccinations... COVID-19 Vaccine Recommended for Seniors 65 and Older
Sequential Vaccinations by Age Group from September 22 to April Next Year
Simultaneous COVID-19 Vaccination Recommended for Citizens Aged 65 and Older
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 17 that it will provide free influenza vaccinations from September 22, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
The eligible recipients are children aged 6 months to 13 years, pregnant women, and seniors aged 65 and older. Regardless of their registered address, individuals can receive the free vaccination at any nearby designated medical institution. Starting this year, following the World Health Organization’s recommendation, the influenza vaccine has been changed from the previous quadrivalent to a trivalent vaccine.
The vaccinations will be administered sequentially by target group. Beginning September 22, children who require two doses will be vaccinated first. Starting September 29, children and pregnant women who need only one dose will be eligible for vaccination.
Vaccinations for seniors will be implemented in stages from mid-October. Seniors aged 75 and older can receive the vaccine from October 15, those aged 70 to 74 from October 20, and those aged 65 to 69 from October 22. Notably, seniors aged 65 and older can receive both the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time, which is expected to enhance preventive effects and reduce the number of visits to medical institutions.
Designated medical institutions nationwide can be checked on the Immunization Helper website.

Lee Hansang, Director of Paju Public Health Center, stated, "I ask for active participation from citizens so that you do not miss the optimal vaccination period, which falls between October and November when influenza becomes prevalent. In particular, since the COVID-19 and influenza vaccines can be administered simultaneously, I encourage everyone to receive both to maximize preventive effects."
