The police have booked three officials from a construction company in connection with the death of a worker who was swept away by rainwater while performing maintenance work on a sewer pipe in a manhole in Gangseo District, Seoul last month.
On September 16, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that it had booked the site manager, the field foreman, and the supervisor from the construction company responsible for the sewer pipe maintenance work on charges of occupational negligence resulting in death.
They are accused of neglecting their duty to prevent accidents in relation to the incident in which a worker in his 40s was swept away by rainwater and died while reinforcing a sewer in a manhole in Yeomchang-dong, Gangseo District, Seoul, at around 9:40 a.m. on August 25.
The police plan to continue their investigation, including analyzing construction-related documents.
