Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 16th that it had received the Excellence Award at the Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival.

Sancheong County won the Excellence Award with its tourism character, "San Neomeo Friends." San Neomeo Friends are characters that represent Jirisan Mountain, the Gyeongho River, the county flower cotton, and the county bird, the oriole.
