Seongnam’s 'Small-Scale Store Youth Startup Support' Brings New Energy to 20 Dodam-gil Shops
Number of Stores to Increase to 47 by November
"Youth Entrepreneurship Wave Behind Moran Central Commercial District"
In the past year, twenty stores run by young entrepreneurs have opened in the Dodam-gil area, located behind the Moran central commercial district in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, which used to feel desolate due to the abundance of vacant shops. The area is now bustling with new energy.

This area, which includes Jeil-ro and Dunchon-daero in Seongnam-dong, Jungwon-gu, was named 'Dodam-gil' by the city, meaning 'A Street Embracing the Challenges of Youth' and 'A Street Gathering Solid and Attractive (Dodamhan) Shops.'
The stores that have opened on Dodam-gil are diverse by business type, including: Haetsal (rice noodle specialty), Morandon (pork cutlet specialty), Hyangmijubang (soft tofu specialty), Butter Brew (salt bread, cafe), ETA3680 (cafe), Sojil (dessert cafe), Workshop Gumo (vintage shop and cafe), Fruit Block (fruit and waffles), Cookiega Miraedang (desserts), Madekey (keyboard manufacturing), Gobdigobgae (pet grooming salon), Molhill (ceramics workshop), Studio Yugu (photography), Dear Moran (photo studio), Green Wave Garden (florist), Design by Soo (florist), Faveclip (accessory shop), Inyurae (coffee machines), Ars Leather (handmade leather goods), and Cheshire (gift shop).
All of these stores are run by young owners who started their businesses between December of last year and April of this year with support from Seongnam City.
Currently, 27 more young people are preparing to open stores by November. If they achieve their goal, the total number of shops on Dodam-gil will increase to 47.
