View original imageThis event was organized by the Namyangju Korea University Premium Academy Alumni Association (President Kim Segi) and brought together over 400 participants, including local facilities for people with disabilities, individuals with disabilities living in the community, volunteers, Mayor Joo Kwangdeok, City Council Chairman Cho Seongdae, and city council members. The festival was arranged in celebration of Chuseok to promote social participation for people with disabilities, who are often at risk of social isolation, and to foster greater mutual understanding between people with and without disabilities.
Notably, nine vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities participated in the event, showcasing their talents during a talent show and presenting a variety of products such as coffee and coffee beans, daily necessities, diffusers, and handicrafts. In addition, food booths and a generous prize drawing event were prepared for the enjoyment of participants, receiving an enthusiastic response from attendees.
Kim Segi, President of the Alumni Association, stated, "It is meaningful that the Namyangju Korea University Premium Academy can communicate more closely with the local community through this event. We will continue to take the lead in various sharing activities, especially supporting the independence and welfare of people with disabilities."
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok said, "I would like to thank the Namyangju Korea University Premium Academy Alumni Association for creating this valuable opportunity for people with and without disabilities to come together. Our city will also spare no effort in providing various forms of support to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities."
