Benchmarking Yeoncheon for User-Centered Sports Facility Development
Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kwangdeok Joo) visited Yeoncheon Park Golf Course in Yeoncheon County on the 12th to benchmark excellent cases and discussed ways to expand user-centered sports infrastructure for daily life.

View original imageThis benchmarking visit aimed to explore operational models for park golf courses that anyone can use safely and conveniently. It was carried out as part of preliminary preparations to advance public sports infrastructure and promote sports activities among seniors.
The site visit was attended by 38 people, including Mayor Kwangdeok Joo, Namyangju Sports Council President Sunghyun Yoon, Namyangju Park Golf Association President Soobok Jung, and association officials. Together with the Yeoncheon County facility operators, they reviewed the course layout, drainage and landscaping, reservation and operation systems, and safety and convenience facilities.
In particular, at the site including the Jaein Falls Park Golf Course, a variety of information was shared on practical operational know-how, such as the placement and management of facilities, accessibility for seniors, and amenities like shade canopies, guide signs, and restrooms.
Based on the results of this benchmarking, the city plans to gradually expand park golf course infrastructure tailored to local conditions and reflect improvements in its user-centered operational system.
After the benchmarking, Mayor Joo held a luncheon meeting with Yeoncheon County Governor Deokhyun Kim to exchange opinions on expanding sports exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
