Fiscal Management Director Inspects Private Investment Project Site: "Will Promote Research Services to Develop Business Models"
'Target Site Public Offering-Type' Newly Introduced Last Year
Seoul City to Develop a Future-Oriented Silver Town
On September 12, Ahn Sangyeol, Director of Fiscal Management at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, visited the site of a target site public offering-type private investment project in Banghwa-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
The target site public offering-type private investment project is a method in which the competent authority publicly announces idle land in advance, and private operators propose private investment projects utilizing the land. The project is then carried out according to procedures such as eligibility assessment for private investment projects.
The government introduced this project method as a new initiative in October last year when it announced the "Measures to Promote Private Investment." If this method becomes more widely used, it could accelerate the construction of social infrastructure by leveraging private sector creativity and increase the utilization of idle national and public land.
The location visited by Director Ahn on this day is where the Seoul Metropolitan Government is developing a "future-oriented silver town" as a target site public offering-type private investment project. The city plans to showcase a complex that integrates residential facilities for the elderly, medical and convenience facilities, parking lots, and logistics centers.
During a meeting with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Director Ahn stated, "We will continue to pay close attention and provide support to ensure the activation of community-based and future-oriented private investment projects." He also said, "We will help private operators and competent authorities easily understand and implement various new types of project structures," and added, "We will promote research services to develop concrete business models."
