On September 11, at the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open (total prize money: 1.5 billion won) held at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon (par 72, 7,471 yards), he carded a 5-under-par 67 in the first round to tie for the lead by one stroke. This tournament is co-hosted by the KPGA Tour, Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), and the Asian Tour.
Yang Jiho showcased a flawless performance, recording five birdies without a single bogey. In a post-round interview, he said, "I started working on my swing adjustments two to three weeks ago, and today I played with the mindset of 'let's go for it, whether it works or not.' My tee shot on the first hole was solid, which boosted my confidence, and I maintained that momentum, finishing with good shots until the end."

He continued, "If I get greedy, my swing falls apart and I can't play boldly, so I'll try to keep my expectations in check and focus on playing the remaining rounds without thinking about the results."
