Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) are organizing an event to discover outstanding cases of urban regeneration and to share the achievements of local communities.
On September 11, Busan Urban Corporation announced that it is accepting applications until September 17 from organizations wishing to participate in the "2025 Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Best Practice Presentation Competition," which will be held on October 17.

This year, the scope of eligible participants has been expanded beyond organizations involved in the existing "Happy Village" and "Village Living Zone" resident contest projects, to include any group operating an urban regeneration resident contest project throughout Busan. The aim is to encompass the activities of various resident organizations participating in urban regeneration.
Participating organizations must be recommended by their district or county, and after a document review, the five highest-scoring organizations will be given the opportunity to present in the finals. Presentations will be made directly by the organization’s representative or staff member, and external experts will select one grand prize winner, two excellence award winners, and two merit award winners.
This presentation competition will be held as a main program of the "2025 Busan Urban Regeneration Expo," which is expected to increase accessibility and participation among citizens.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "Urban regeneration is a project led by residents, not by the administration," adding, "I hope this event will widely publicize outstanding cases from the contest projects and serve as a platform for mutual learning and exchange among local communities."
