Jangsu County Opens 'Janggye Park Golf Course' at Janggye Sports Park

Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province opened the Janggye Park Golf Course, an 18-hole facility, at Janggye Sports Park on September 9.
According to the county on September 10, the Janggye Park Golf Course holds significant meaning as it is the first park golf course in the county. Previously, the absence of such a facility had led to continuous complaints from residents, but with its opening, a long-awaited project for the community has been realized, creating a new hub for leisure activities.

View original imageAbout 150 people attended the opening ceremony, including County Governor Choi Hunsik, County Council Chairman Choi Hanjoo, county and provincial council members, officials from the Park Golf Association, local organization representatives, and residents.
The opening ceremony also featured a friendly match with teams from 14 cities and counties in North Jeolla Province, as well as a ribbon-cutting, commemorative tee-off, and various other programs, making the event a celebration of unity and festivity.
The Janggye Park Golf Course was established over two years, from 2023 to 2024, with a total project cost of 1.985 billion won. Built on a 13,384-square-meter site within Janggye Sports Park, the 18-hole facility aims to improve the leisure environment and support healthy lifestyles for residents. It is designed as a space where anyone can enjoy park golf conveniently and free of charge.
To meet the growing demand for park golf, the county plans to open the Beonam Park Golf Course in the second half of this year, and is also preparing to open the Jangsu Park Golf Course in the second half of next year.
The county expects that park golf, as a sport that can be easily enjoyed by people of all ages, will not only promote residents' health but also attract tourists and revitalize the local economy through the hosting of tournaments.

County Governor Choi Hunsik stated, "As the popularity of park golf continues to rise, I hope the opening of the county's first Janggye Park Golf Course will serve as a new space for residents to relax and enjoy leisure activities. We will continue to do our best to create sports facilities that many residents can use."
