National Growth Fund Public Briefing to Be Held on September 10
The government will expand the National Growth Fund from 100 trillion won to 150 trillion won. The government is expected to release detailed information through the National Growth Fund Public Briefing on September 10, 2025.
Kang Yoojung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, announced this to the press corps on the same day. Kang stated, "There will be an open discussion on topics such as the vision for advanced strategic industries including AX, bio, and energy, the 150 trillion won National Growth Fund, support for innovative venture companies, and a major shift toward productive finance."
The National Growth Fund is a public-private joint fund established by the government to expand investment in future strategic industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, secondary batteries, and bio. Initially, the government announced plans to create a fund of more than 100 trillion won, but at the briefing on this day, the discussion will focus on a 150 trillion won National Growth Fund.
The event will be attended by SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Celltrion Chairman Seo Jungjin, Samsung Electronics President Park Seunghee, Furiosa AI CEO Baek Junho, LG Uplus Executive Vice President Kwon Yonghyun, Hyundai Motor Company Executive Vice President Kim Dongwook, SK Telecom Executive Vice President Lee Jongmin, and newly appointed Korea Development Bank President Park Sangjin.
From the Presidential Office, Policy Chief Kim Yongbeom, Chief of Economic Growth Ha Junkyung, Chief of AI Future Planning Ha Jungwoo, Fiscal Planning Advisor Ryu Deokhyun, and Industrial Policy Secretary Yoon Sunghyuk will attend.
