Three Workers Rescued After Being Buried at Paju Pipe Construction Site
At approximately 10:33 p.m. on September 9, a construction site accident occurred in Wadong-dong, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, where soil collapsed during conduit work, burying three workers.

View original imageAccording to fire authorities, one of the buried workers was rescued at the scene immediately after the accident, while another was rescued by firefighters about 45 minutes later. The last worker was rescued at around 2:00 a.m. on September 10. All three workers, men in their 50s and 60s, were found to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
It was determined that the workers were buried when the soil collapsed in a pit they had dug for pipe connection work during a pipe replacement project for an automated waste collection facility commissioned by Paju City.
