Man in His 30s Booked for Illegally Filming Elementary Students While Running Snack Shop Near School
A man in his 30s who operated a snack shop in front of an elementary school has been apprehended by police for illegally filming elementary school students.
On September 8, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, for violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse. Mr. A has been running a snack shop in front of an elementary school in Mapo-gu.
Mr. A is suspected of illegally filming the bodies of more than 10 female elementary school students over several months using his mobile phone. According to the police, hundreds of illegally taken photos of female students were found on his phone. It has been confirmed that Mr. A has no prior criminal record.

The police have taken measures to suspend the snack shop's operations and relocate Mr. A's residence, and are investigating whether there are additional victims and the exact circumstances of the incident.
