Aiming to Become a Global Media Art Gallery Beyond Times Square
Jongno District in Seoul (Mayor Jung Moonheon) announced on the 7th that it officially launched the 'Gwanghwamun Square Opening Ceremony' on the evening of the 5th at the Gwanghwamun Square Playground, coinciding with the lighting of the KT Square.

View original imageThe event began with an opening declaration and congratulatory remarks, followed by a lighting ceremony with participation from citizens and distinguished guests. During the countdown for the Media Wall lighting, a video jointly produced by Jongno District, KT, and the Cultural Heritage Administration was also released for the first time.
Gwanghwamun Square is the second phase of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Free Signage Zone project, and will be promoted from 2024 to 2033 across approximately 220,000 square meters, including Gwanghwamun Square and the Sejong-daero area.
