Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Hosts 'Familiarization Tour' to Attract Taiwanese Tourists
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has launched an initiative to attract tourists from Taiwan, following its efforts in China.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on September 5 that it had invited key figures from Taiwan's travel industry for a familiarization tour and held a large-scale B2B meeting from September 2 to 6.
This event marks the first time this year that members of Taiwan's travel industry have visited Korea directly at the invitation of a local government, experiencing new tourist attractions in Gyeonggi Province and participating in large-scale B2B consultations. It is expected to become a new milestone in Korea-Taiwan tourism cooperation.
Taiwan currently ranks third in Korea's inbound tourism market.

Excluding the COVID-19 period, the share has shown steady growth: 7.1% in 2019, 8.1% in 2023, and 8.5% in 2024.
In response, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is pursuing strategic cooperation with major local travel agencies and airlines this year.
In particular, this event focused on providing practical opportunities for participants to directly experience the appeal of Gyeonggi Province's tourism resources and to connect these experiences to the development of new travel products.
Participants in the familiarization tour showed strong interest in Gyeonggi Province's new tourist attractions, shopping, and medical and experiential tourism content. Some travel agencies specifically discussed their intentions to develop new products on-site and explored concrete plans for future joint marketing initiatives.
