Fire Breaks Out in Gwangju Villa... Man in His 50s Hospitalized with Burns
A fire broke out in a villa in Buk-gu, Gwangju, leaving a man in his 50s with facial burns and smoke inhalation. He was transported to the hospital.
According to the Gwangju Fire Department on September 4, a fire occurred at around 10:06 p.m. the previous day on the second floor of a three-story villa in Ochi-dong, Buk-gu. Upon receiving the report, the fire authorities dispatched 11 fire trucks and 37 firefighters, extinguishing the blaze within 21 minutes.

As a result of the fire, the resident, referred to as Mr. A, suffered facial burns and smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital. Three other residents evacuated on their own.
The fire department believes the blaze started from an operating electric fan and is investigating the exact cause and the extent of the damage.
