Namyangju City Council Attends 20th Anniversary Ceremony of Namyangju Eastern Senior Welfare Center
The Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, led by Chairman Cho Sungdae, attended the 20th anniversary ceremony of the Namyangju Eastern Senior Welfare Center held on the 3rd at the Sudong Multi-Sports Center and delivered congratulatory remarks.

View original imageHeld under the theme "20 Years in Your Life, A Warm Journey Together," the ceremony was attended by more than 600 people, including Cho Sungdae, chairman of the Namyangju City Council; Lee Kyungsook, chair of the Welfare and Environment Committee; Assembly members Lee Sanggi, Park Yunok, Han Songyeon, and Jeon Hyeyeon; Mayor Joo Gwangdeok; provincial councilors; representatives from related local welfare organizations; and senior citizens who use the center.
The ceremony proceeded in the following order: a pre-event performance, introduction of guests and commemorative photo, a 20th anniversary video, welcoming remarks, awards for distinguished service and congratulatory speeches, a celebratory performance, and a cake-cutting ceremony.
In particular, a choir performance prepared over the past month by more than 20 people, including senior citizens who use the center and staff members under the direction of Director Jung Youngmin, deeply moved the audience.
In his congratulatory speech, Chairman Cho Sungdae said, "I sincerely congratulate the Namyangju Eastern Senior Welfare Center on its 20th anniversary. I would like to express my gratitude to all the senior citizens, the director, and the staff who have cherished and protected the center over the past 20 years. As a steadfast partner for our senior citizens, the Namyangju City Council has always actively supported a variety of senior welfare programs carried out by the executive branch to ensure that the lives of our elders are richer and more meaningful, and we are committed to serving our seniors without any neglect."

He added, "Currently, a senior welfare center is also under construction in Byeollae-dong, and the council will continue to pay close attention to ensure that, through the sound operation of senior welfare centers in each region, these facilities become well-connected spaces for leisure, health promotion, and community activities for our elders in the future."
