Lotte Card Implements Customer Protection Measures After Cyber Breach..."Advance Compensation for Unauthorized Use"
24-Hour Dedicated Consultation for Cyber Breach Inquiries
Extended Customer Service Until 10 p.m. for Password Changes, Card Reissuance, and Account Termination
Easy-Access Links for Password Changes, Overseas Transaction Blocking, and Card Reissuance on App and Website
Lotte Card announced on September 3 that it will implement enhanced customer protection measures in response to the recent cyber breach incident.
Starting the previous day, the company established a dedicated ARS menu at its customer service center for inquiries related to potential personal information leaks, operating 24 hours a day.
Since September 1, as a security measure to prevent further damage, Lotte Card has extended its customer service center hours until 10 p.m. to promptly respond to requests for password changes, card reissuance, and account termination. The company plans to maintain these extended hours outside of regular business hours for the time being.
Additionally, Lotte Card has provided easy-access links on its application and website for password changes, blocking overseas transactions, and card reissuance, enabling customers to conveniently take security measures online.
However, account termination requires a consultation with a customer service representative, as customers need to be informed about outstanding balances, remaining points, and available options for their use.
The company is also strengthening its monitoring system for abnormal financial transactions, including both domestic and international pre- and post-transaction monitoring.
In the event of unauthorized use resulting from the breach, Lotte Card will provide compensation in advance. The company aims to ensure that financial consumers do not suffer any losses.
