Over 380 Participants at Jinha and Ilsan Beaches from June to August
84 Rescue and Emergency Operations, Over 3,600 Safety Measures Implemented
The Ulsan Fire Department successfully concluded the activities of the 119 Citizen Lifeguard Corps, which operated at Jinha Beach and Ilsan Beach from June 27 to August 31, 2025.
This year, the 119 Citizen Lifeguard Corps was composed of approximately 380 members, including firefighters (rescue workers and volunteer firefighters) and volunteers. During the peak summer vacation season, they were responsible for ensuring the safety of citizens and tourists enjoying water activities at the beaches.
During this period, the Citizen Lifeguard Corps carried out a total of 84 rescue and emergency response operations. In addition, they implemented more than 3,600 safety measures and conducted over 1,200 safety accident prevention campaigns and guidance activities, playing a significant role in preventing summer beach accidents.
The Fire Department stated that these activities reaffirmed the importance of on-site safety management. They plan to supplement any necessary areas and continue operations next year so that citizens can enjoy water activities with peace of mind.
An official from the Ulsan Fire Department said, "The 119 Citizen Lifeguard Corps has been at the center of building a culture of water safety together with citizens, going beyond simple rescue operations." He added, "Thanks to the dedication of the volunteer participants and firefighters, we were able to finish the summer without any major accidents this year."

In addition to the beaches, the Ulsan Fire Department has also deployed safety personnel at Sinmyeong Beach, Seonbawi, and Cheolguso to prevent water-related accidents. Cheolguso is maintaining its safety management through extended operations even after the holiday season.
