Construction began in December 2021 and was completed on August 31, 2025.
Yongso Valley, the seventh of the nine scenic spots in Hongcheon County, is a famous tourist destination visited by many every year. It is renowned for its clear waters and uniquely shaped rocks, with lush forests, natural pools, and broad rocks creating a landscape as beautiful as Naeseorak.
The newly opened Yongso Valley Tunnel prevents risks such as falling rocks and slope collapses that could occur from the steep cliffs of the previous road. It has also widened the road, resolving the issue of vehicles being unable to pass each other. As a result, both local residents and tourists can now use the road more safely and conveniently.
Lee Deukseon, Head of the Construction Division, stated, "We will work to expedite the road sections connecting the Yongso Valley parking lot to the tunnel, and from the tunnel to Sutaegyo Bridge, so that tourists and local residents visiting Yongso Valley can use the roads safely and conveniently."
