The Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Special Zone Foundation) announced on September 2 that it held a '20th Anniversary Ceremony' at the Special Zone Foundation Conference Hall in Daejeon.
The ceremony included an award presentation for distinguished contributors, such as the Minister of Science and ICT Commendation, a screening of a commemorative video marking the 20th anniversary, a presentation of the 'Deep Tech 2030 Vision,' and a reading of the declaration.

View original imageThe 'Deep Tech 2030 Vision' announced on this day encapsulates the Special Zone Foundation's medium-term strategy for the next five years. It aims to accelerate the commercialization of public technologies focusing on national strategic technologies and deep tech, build infrastructure optimized for technology startups and growth, and strengthen support for technology finance and global expansion.
Additionally, the foundation identified strengthening communication with key players in academia, industry, and research, spreading the achievements of the Special Zones nationwide, and establishing a strategic technology management system as its core directions.
The Special Zone Foundation was established in September 2005 based on the 'Special Act on the Promotion of Research and Development Special Zones.' Since then, it has implemented unique systems such as 'Research Institute Spin-off Companies,' 'Designation and Fostering of Advanced Technology Companies,' 'Special Zone Regulatory Sandbox,' and 'R&D Special Zone Promotion Projects,' solidifying its status as Korea's leading institution specializing in technology commercialization.
Currently, the Special Zone Foundation operates a comprehensive technology commercialization support system that covers public technology transfer, startups, and investment, focusing on five metropolitan special zones and fourteen small but strong special zones nationwide.
