Choi Gyojin Resigns as Sejong Superintendent, Cheon Beomsan to Serve as Acting Superintendent
As Choi Gyojin, the Superintendent of Education for Sejong, was nominated as the candidate for Minister of Education and resigned effective September 2, Deputy Superintendent Cheon Beomsan will serve as acting superintendent until the local elections next year.
The acting superintendent serves as a legal representative, so no separate appointment process is required. This is carried out in accordance with Article 72 of the Enforcement Decree of the Local Autonomy Act and Article 200 of the Public Official Election Act. The acting superintendent may handle all affairs belonging to the superintendent, as prescribed by laws, ordinances, and educational regulations.
