Joint Response Planned for the Second Phase of Public Institution Relocations
On September 1, Wonju City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, held a meeting with the Gangwon Innovation City Relocated Public Institutions Labor Union Council (chaired by Lee Sanghoon) and agreed to jointly address key issues, including improving living conditions in the innovation city and the second phase of public institution relocations.

View original imageThe Gangwon Innovation City Relocated Public Institutions Labor Union Council is a consultative body formed by the labor unions of 10 public institutions based in Wonju Innovation City. It works to protect the rights and interests of employees at relocated institutions and to improve residential conditions.
During this meeting, various measures to improve living conditions in the innovation city-such as education, transportation, events, and company housing management-were intensively discussed. In particular, specific issues raised included improving educational conditions for male high school students in the innovation city, increasing the number of express buses passing through the innovation city, enhancing the efficiency of company housing operations, and providing relocation settlement support.
In addition, the participants agreed to work together in response to the second phase of public institution relocations, which is currently being promoted as a national policy initiative.
Wonju City plans to further strengthen cooperation through regular communication with the council, beginning with this meeting.
Chairman Lee Sanghoon stated, "It is meaningful to share the voices of employees from relocated institutions with Wonju City and to work together to find solutions. Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate closely with Wonju City so that the innovation city can firmly establish itself as a regional growth hub."
