[2026 Early Admission] Chung-Ang University Introduces Interviews for CAU Convergence-Type Talent (Medical Department)
2,827 Students to Be Selected Through Early Admission
New Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering Established
Chung-Ang University will select 2,827 students, accounting for 57.5% of its total admissions quota for the 2026 academic year, through the early admission process.
By admission type, 503 students will be selected through the school record-based track, 1,440 through the comprehensive school record track, 484 through the essay-based track, and 400 through the practical skills track.
Among the school record-based tracks, interviews have been newly introduced for the CAU Convergence-Type Talent (Medical Department), which previously did not require interviews. For the CAU Inquiry-Type Talent track, the number of candidates selected for interviews has been expanded from the previous 2.5 to 3.5 times the quota to 3.5 to 5 times the quota.
Additionally, Chung-Ang University has established a new Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering, which will admit 20 students and provide all admitted students with a full scholarship for four years. The admission quotas for the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Industrial Security have also been increased by 16 and 10 students, respectively.
By admission track, the Regional Balance track, which is based on school records, selects students solely based on their school records, and each high school can recommend up to 20 students. The Seoul Campus units require minimum scores on the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), while the Davinci Campus units do not have such requirements.
For the comprehensive school record track, there are the CAU Convergence-Type Talent, CAU Inquiry-Type Talent, CAU Harmony, and Equal Opportunity tracks. Among these, the Convergence-Type Talent (Medical Department) and Inquiry-Type Talent tracks first select a certain number of candidates based solely on document evaluation, then conduct interviews. The final selection is based on 70% document evaluation and 30% interview score. All other comprehensive school record tracks select students based solely on 100% document evaluation.
The essay-based track will select students based on 70% essay test and 30% school records, as in previous years. Of the 30% for school records, 20% is based on academic subjects and 10% on non-academic factors (attendance). For the humanities and social sciences, there will be three language essay questions; for business and economics, two language essay questions and one mathematics essay question; and for the natural sciences, four mathematics essay questions will be given.

For the practical skills track, 326 students will be selected through the practical skills type and 74 through the special talent type. The practical skills type reflects both the school record and the practical skills test, with the weighting varying by department. The School of Performing and Visual Arts (Creative Writing, Photography, Film) requires minimum CSAT scores, whereas other departments do not. The special talent type considers school records, awards, and aptitude/practical tests, with the selection method differing by department. Minimum CSAT scores are not required for this track.
