[2026 Early Admission] Ajou University Expands Advanced Departments... Adds 51 More Students
1,469 Students to Be Admitted Through Early Admission
51 Additional Seats Approved in Two Advanced Departments
Ajou University will admit 1,469 students, which is 66.4% of its total intake, through the 2026 early admission process. By admission type, 361 students will be selected based on academic records, 1,039 through comprehensive student evaluations, 173 through essay tests, and 10 based on practical skills or achievements.
In line with the Ministry of Education's policy to foster talent in advanced industries, Ajou University has received approval to increase its quota by a total of 51 students in advanced fields. The College of Advanced Bio-Convergence will add 30 students, and the Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering will add 21 students. For the College of Advanced Bio-Convergence, the admissions breakdown is as follows: 22 through the high school recommendation track, 42 through the advanced convergence talent track, 5 through the equal opportunity 1 track, and 4 through the equal opportunity 2 track. The Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering will select 12 students through the high school recommendation track, 24 through the advanced convergence talent track, 4 through the equal opportunity 1 track, 2 through the equal opportunity 2 track, and 12 through the essay excellence track.
Ajou Innovation College (ai Lab), which eliminates traditional departmental boundaries and is composed of various specialized majors, will recruit 109 students for the Frontier Science Division and 104 for the Economics, Politics, and Society Convergence Division within the regular quota. The Frontier Science Division encompasses the former departments of Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences. The Economics, Politics, and Society Convergence Division includes the former departments of Economics, Sociology, and Political Science & Diplomacy.
For the high school recommendation track based on academic records, Ajou University will reflect 100% of the academic record and will not consider extracurricular activities. There is no limit on the number of recommendations per school, no weighting by field, grade, or subject, and all Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science subjects are included. The minimum academic requirement for both natural sciences and humanities is a combined grade of 5 or less in two out of the following areas: Korean, Mathematics (no restriction on elective subjects), English, and one subject from either Social Studies or Science. For the newly introduced Medical Science major, the minimum requirement is a combined grade of 6 or less in Korean, Mathematics (no restriction on elective subjects), English, and the average of two subjects from Science or Social Studies.
The comprehensive student evaluation admissions will be conducted through the following tracks: ACE Track (532 students), Advanced Convergence Talent Track (208 students), Equal Opportunity 1 Track (95 students), Equal Opportunity 2 Track (57 students), Special Education Track (10 students), and National Defense IT Talent 1 Track (23 students).

This year, the National Defense IT Talent 1 Track, which has been reclassified under the comprehensive student evaluation admissions, selects students for the Department of National Defense Digital Convergence, which has a contract with the Air Force to train elite officers in the field of national defense information and communication technology (ICT). In the first stage, three times the number of available spots will be selected based solely on document evaluation. In the second stage, final selections will be made based on a combined score of 70% from the first stage and 30% from interviews. All admitted students will receive full tuition coverage and guaranteed dormitory accommodation.
