At the completion ceremony for the "Data-Based Intellectual Property Research and Development" major project class held on August 28, Im Aeran, Dean of the Microdegree College, presented certificates of achievement to students with outstanding performance, recognizing the results of their education.

Dean Im Aeran stated, "This major enables students to develop practical IP skills applicable in real-world settings through hands-on project classes in collaboration with industry, serving as a stepping stone toward stable employment. In particular, the industry-academia cooperation-based education built on the 'TETRIS CLASS' system is emerging as a new model for university education."

Um Sunghee, Senior Expert at the Korea Invention Promotion Association, said, "The students gained direct experience in practical IP work required in the field through internships at various patent law firms, and they successfully completed real-world project classes based on this experience. Such experiences will be invaluable assets as the students grow into IP professionals." The "Technology Innovation Intellectual Property Research and Development Practice" course, operated under Shinhan University's unique microdegree "TETRIS CLASS" system, is planned and run jointly by Professor Lee Hoyoun, Senior Expert Um Sunghee from the Korea Invention Promotion Association, and several patent law firms.

The "Technology Innovation Intellectual Property Research and Development Practice" course is a field-oriented program designed to foster R&D professionals required by companies by helping students understand IP-R&D and acquire strategies for generating IP tailored to corporate needs. The curriculum systematically covers ▲ technology trend analysis ▲ big data-based patent analysis ▲ development of company-specific IP-R&D strategies ▲ product innovation using IP product innovation methodologies, providing students with opportunities to grow into IP experts. Undergraduates gain competitive hands-on experience by participating in nationwide competitions such as the D2B Design Fair and the Campus Patent Universiade (CPU). Students with outstanding achievements are given opportunities to receive scholarships from these competitions, creating a virtuous cycle that enhances motivation and achievement.

President Kang Sungjong said, "Through this program, students have grown beyond simply acquiring academic knowledge to become talents equipped with practical IP skills that can be immediately applied in the field, thanks to classes that transcend the limitations of time and space. We will continue to strengthen field-oriented industry-academia cooperation to actively support students in securing stable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities."

Shinhan University plans to continue strengthening data-based analysis and practical education to nurture industry-tailored IP professionals, expanding its educational model where universities, companies, and young people grow together.
