Wonju City in Gangwon Province has expressed its support for the recently announced plan by the Wonju Regional Land Management Office to upgrade the Gwangteo Intersection into a grade-separated interchange.
The Gwangteo Intersection is a major gateway to Wonju, where National Route 42, Local Route 88, and City Road 1-701 converge. However, due to persistent traffic congestion, users have continuously called for improvements in this area.

As the Gwangteo Intersection has long caused inconvenience for citizens, this project will serve as an important milestone in improving the quality of life for local residents and driving the city's development."
