Two High School Students Arrested for Stealing Jewelry Worth 30 Million Won from Gold and Silver Shop
Gwangju Seobu Police Station announced on the 28th that it had apprehended two teenagers, including a boy identified as A, on suspicion of special theft for stealing jewelry from a gold and silver shop while pretending to be customers.
The suspects, who are high school students, are accused of stealing jewelry worth approximately 30 million won, including gold necklaces and bracelets, from a gold and silver shop in Hwajeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju at around 2:30 p.m. the previous day. According to the investigation, they entered the shop posing as customers, and A fled with the items while the shop owner was distracted as he tried on the jewelry.
Responding to the shop owner's report, police arrived at the scene and arrested the suspects one after another on a nearby street in the act. Police stated that all of the stolen jewelry was recovered.
