NH-Amundi Asset Management Donates 60 Million Won from Fund Reserves to Support Flood-Affected Farmers
NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on the 27th that it has donated 60 million won using fund reserves to support farmers affected by the recent heavy rainfall.
NH-Amundi Asset Management accumulates management and sales fees from certain funds to create a fund reserve, which is then used for various social contribution activities such as donations, scholarship programs, and support for research on materials, parts, and equipment. Currently, the company is collecting reserves from five funds, including Pilseung Korea, 100-Year Company Green Korea, Long-Term Growth Leading Companies, and I-Sarang.
The donation was made using reserves from the ESG fund, "NH-Amundi 100-Year Company Green Korea." Investors in this fund have also indirectly participated in supporting the recovery of farmers affected by flood damage.
On the 25th, 50 million won was donated to the Nonghyup Foundation. The foundation will use this donation to deliver rice product sets to farmers in affected areas such as Sejong City in South Chungcheong Province and Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province. Since 2004, the Nonghyup Foundation has been working to improve the quality of life and welfare of farmers through various welfare projects, including scholarship programs, settlement support for multicultural families in rural areas, and support for vulnerable farming households.
Previously, on the 22nd, 10 million won was donated to the NH Urban-Rural Win-Win Movement Headquarters to assist with recovery and supply support in areas severely affected by the heavy rain. This organization aims to promote mutual growth between urban and rural communities through various support projects, including disaster relief, helping with farm labor, and encouraging rice consumption.
Moon Seokgeun, Secretary General of the Nonghyup Foundation, said, "We deeply appreciate NH-Amundi Asset Management and its investors for providing valuable funds to help farmers recover from the difficulties caused by the heavy rainfall," adding, "The Nonghyup Foundation will continue to stand by farmers and steadily carry out various scholarship and welfare programs."
Gil Jeongseop, CEO of NH-Amundi Asset Management, stated, "We want to join forces with our investors to help farmers who have suffered significant damage from the heavy rainfall return to their daily lives as soon as possible," and added, "We will continue to give back to society through our fund reserves and fulfill our social responsibility as a financial company."
