"Flowers Blooming Over Disaster Scars"... Gapyeong to Host 'Jaraseom Flower Festa'
Gapyeong County to Hold One-Month Festival Starting September 13
A Celebration of Gratitude and Comfort for Residents
Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Taewon) will hold the 'Jaraseom Flower Festa (Autumn)' at the southern part of Jaraseom Island from September 13 to October 12, 2025.
This event has been organized to express gratitude for the volunteer work and donations of funds and goods received from all over the country during the recovery process following the heavy rains in July, and to offer comfort and hope to residents affected by the disaster.
Accordingly, this year's festival will be held under the theme, "Flowers that Bloomed After Pain, Thank You for Your Warm Support." The venue will feature a variety of flowers, including zinnias symbolizing connection, penstemon representing gratitude, sunflowers conveying hope, and pink muhly, all planted to deliver a profound message and showcase the beauty of an autumn garden.
The festival is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last exit at 7 p.m. Admission is free for Gapyeong County residents and children under the age of five. Visitors from outside the county can enter for a fee of 7,000 won, of which 5,000 won will be refunded in Gapyeong Love Gift Certificates.
Seo Taewon, Governor of Gapyeong County, stated, "I sincerely thank all the volunteers who joined us in the disaster recovery efforts and everyone who donated funds. Thanks to your warm support, Gapyeong has been able to recover, and this Flower Festa is designed as an open festival to convey comfort and hope to the affected residents."
The county expects this event to revitalize the local economy and generate positive economic effects across the tourism industry, including accommodation, food, and transportation sectors.
