Korean National Ballet Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Movement Series with Special Performance and Audience Talk
The Korean National Ballet (KNB) will present a special stage at the Jayu Theater of the Seoul Arts Center from August 29 to 31, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the "KNB Movement Series."
The Movement Series is a choreographer development project launched in 2015 with the appointment of Kang Suejin as director and artistic director. Members and mentors of the Korean National Ballet directly choreograph works, and the company provides full support. Through this initiative, the aim is to discover and nurture emerging choreographers and to expand the creative ecosystem of ballet in Korea.

Since its inception in 2015, a total of 25 choreographers have participated, producing 65 original works through the Movement Series. This project has served as a stepping stone for company members Kang Hyo-hyung and Song Jungbin to grow into full-length ballet choreographers.
This performance will feature eight representative works from the series that have been beloved by audiences and critics alike: "Amadeus Concerto" (2019) choreographed by Song Jungbin, "Quartet of the Soul" (2016) by Park Seulgi, "Season; Spring" (2019) by Lee Youngcheol, "Noeul" (2023) by Kim Junkyung, "Etude du bonheur" (2023) by Lee Hayeon, "Eogap" (2022) by Jung Eunyoung, "Areumdawoom ME" (2024) by Sun Hohyun, and "Yodongchida" (2015) by Kang Hyo-hyung.
The Korean National Ballet stated that this performance will highlight the creative achievements of the past decade and serve as a new starting point for the next ten years.
