"Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony for the 100th Anniversary of Liberation" to Be Held at Dongnae High School in Busan
Over 430 Participants from Busan Veterans Affairs Office and Students
Passing on the Meaning of Liberation and the Value of Patriotism to Future Generations
The Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Namil Lee) will hold the "Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony for the 100th Anniversary of Liberation" at the Dongnae High School auditorium (Principal Changho Yang) on August 27 in the afternoon.
Approximately 430 people, including the head of the Veterans Affairs Division at the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office, first and second-year students of Dongnae High School, and faculty members, will attend the ceremony. The event will begin with a video presentation, followed by the national ceremony, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, the sealing ceremony, performances by the student band and saxophonists, and a group singing session.
The time capsule will contain items chosen by the students themselves, such as press release newsletters, letters, test papers, meal plans, and school uniforms. These items will be opened in 20 years and delivered to future students.
The "Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony for the 100th Anniversary of Liberation" is being held at 100 schools nationwide this year to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation. The event aims to convey the significance of Liberation, as well as the history and values of patriotism in the Republic of Korea, to future generations who will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Liberation in 2045.

An official from the Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office stated, "The time capsule will serve as a link connecting the past, present, and future," adding, "We hope that the thoughts and records left by seniors will resonate deeply with future students in 20 years and become an opportunity to foster a correct understanding of history."
