This year's meeting focused less on discovering new policies and more on proactively responding to the changing administrative environment and residents' expectations. The county reviewed and decisively sunsetted unnecessary, annually repeated, and similar or overlapping projects, and operated the meeting with an emphasis on finding ways to reduce the budget in consideration of the county's fiscal conditions.
During the meeting, discussions were held on installing automatic road-blocking facilities on flood-prone roads to ensure residents' safety during disasters, maintenance of disaster risk zones, creation of night tourism spaces that blend culture to promote stay-type tourism, and the construction of an international meditation center.
In addition, the meeting reviewed the development and distribution of Damyang-style functional income crops to increase farmers' income, nurturing next-generation agricultural managers, reconstruction of the Changpyeong Traditional Market to revitalize the local economy, establishment of a Damyang food-specialized agro-industrial complex, and the development of a second general industrial complex.
Furthermore, a total of 48 budget-saving measures were identified, including 33 sunset policies such as projects that showed insufficient performance compared to investment or were promoted out of habit. The county expects these measures to save more than 1 billion won, and plans to strategically reinvest the saved budget into new administrative demands.
