However, with the establishment of the team at Bundang Gumi Middle School, the talent development system for girls' basketball-which connects Seongnam Sujeong Elementary School and Bundang Gyeongyeong High School-has been restored.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Superintendent Im Taehee, the head of the Seongnam Office of Education, Lee Jongseok, president of the Gyeonggi Basketball Association, local sports figures, physical education supervisors from the provincial office, students, faculty, and parents-about 150 people in total-who celebrated the launch of the basketball team.
The Bundang Gumi Middle School basketball team plans to provide students with opportunities to improve their physical fitness, teamwork, and career exploration through regular training and participation in various competitions. In addition, the team will operate under the guidance of a professional coach and a systematic training program, and aims to promote a sports culture connected to the local community.
Superintendent Im Taehee stated, "The Bundang Gumi Middle School basketball team will become a valuable foundation for nurturing students' pride and love for their school," and added, "I hope the sports team will become a distinctive brand for the school and a path to the growth and success of each student."
