Murder Suspect in Yongin Woman's Case Arrested in Hongcheon, Gangwon
The suspect who killed a woman in her 30s in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province and then fled was apprehended by police within a day.
The Yongin Seobu Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that they urgently arrested a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of murder at 8:56 a.m. on August 22 in a mountainous area of Hongcheon County, Gangwon Province. It is reported that a search dog handler from the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency discovered Mr. A, after which the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency apprehended him.
The police plan to transfer Mr. A from the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency to the Yongin Seobu Police Station for a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the case.

Mr. A is suspected of stabbing and killing a woman in her 30s, identified as Ms. B, with a weapon he had prepared in advance at around 2:40 to 2:50 a.m. the previous day in the underground parking lot of an officetel in Suji District, Yongin. About three hours after the incident, at 5:45 a.m., a resident discovered Ms. B's body and reported it to the authorities. Based on CCTV footage and other evidence, the police identified Mr. A as the suspect and have been pursuing the investigation.
