Three workers cleaning the inside of a makeshift tank at a ready-mix concrete plant in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, have fallen unconscious, and fire authorities are conducting rescue operations.
At 1:29 p.m. on August 21, a report was received at the 119 emergency center that three workers cleaning a ground-level makeshift tank at Plant A in the Suncheon General Industrial Complex, Seomyeon, Suncheon, had lost contact.
Fire authorities, considering the possibility of multiple casualties, began a search and found the three workers unconscious inside the tank at 1:39 p.m. Currently, rescue operations are underway by dismantling the tank.
The tank involved in the accident was used to store chemicals for concrete mixing, and the workers were reportedly employed by an outsourcing company.
