Gyeonggi Province's Online Opinion Survey Platform Sees 17-Fold Growth in Membership Over 10 Years
The online opinion survey website operated by Gyeonggi Province (survey.gg.go.kr) has shown steady growth, establishing itself as a key channel for real-time communication with residents. Over the past ten years since its launch, the number of registered users has increased more than tenfold.
The Gyeonggi Province opinion survey website is a platform created by the province to conduct a wide range of surveys related to provincial administration, from policy and social issues to polls on topics of public interest.
Starting with 3,773 members in its first year in 2015, the number of registered users reached 67,000 as of August 2025. This is the largest scale among all local governments nationwide. Over the past ten years, the number of users has increased approximately 17 times. The average number of participants per survey has also grown nearly elevenfold, from 635 in 2015 to more than 7,000 today. More than 35 different surveys and votes are conducted annually.
The most significant achievement is that over the past decade, the platform has served as an accessible channel for residents to participate in provincial affairs and share their opinions.
The response from participating residents has also been positive.
Ms. A, a woman in her 40s living in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, said, "I am truly impressed by Gyeonggi Province's efforts to listen to and reflect the voices of its residents," adding, "In particular, the 'Gyeonggi Province Climate Insurance' is a welcome new initiative in line with current trends, and the province's open attitude in incorporating residents' opinions through surveys stands out."
To mark its 10th anniversary this year, Gyeonggi Province will hold various events through September 30. New members will have a chance to win prizes through a sign-up event, and both existing and new panel members can participate in a "congratulatory comment event" with a variety of prizes available.
Anyone aged 14 or older residing in Gyeonggi, Seoul, or Incheon can join the Gyeonggi Province online opinion survey panel. Participation is easy and convenient via PC or mobile anytime, anywhere, and prizes are awarded through a drawing for each survey completed.
