Basic 24 Support Categories Plus 13 Additional Measures for Special Disaster Areas
Aiding Residents' Livelihood Stability
Hamyang County, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on August 20 that it is providing indirect support to residents across a total of 37 categories, following its designation as a "Special Disaster Area" due to the heavy rainfall that occurred from July 16 to July 20.
This indirect support basically covers 24 categories, and an additional 13 categories are applied specifically to areas declared as Special Disaster Areas. These measures are expected to help residents who suffered damage from the heavy rain to stabilize their livelihoods and recover their daily lives.
The basic support categories include a total of 24 items, such as: ▲ reduction or deferment of national and local taxes ▲ exemption from National Pension insurance payments ▲ reduction of water and sewage fees ▲ disaster recovery loan support ▲ reduction of public property usage fees ▲ exemption from civil defense training, and support for home appliance repairs, among others.
Additionally, as a result of the Special Disaster Area designation, 13 more categories are applied, including: ▲ reduction of National Health Insurance premiums ▲ reduction of electricity, city gas, and district heating fees ▲ reduction of wired and wireless communication fees and paid broadcasting service fees ▲ exemption from alternative forest resource creation fees ▲ exemption from reserve forces training, among others.
The county is posting a comprehensive guide detailing the indirect support categories on the Hamyang County website and plans to continue promoting it by distributing the guide to town and township offices, village halls, and related organizations.
