Seven Track Workers Struck by Mugunghwa Train in Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk; Two Dead
At approximately 10:52 a.m. on August 19, a train accident occurred at around the 350-kilometer mark on the Gyeongbu Line heading toward Busan, in Samsin-ri, Hwayang-eup, Cheongdo County, Gyeongbuk.
According to the police, Mugunghwa train No. 1903, which had departed from Dongdaegu Station and was bound for Jinju, Gyeongnam, struck seven workers who were moving near the tracks.

View original imageAs a result of the accident, two people were killed, four sustained serious injuries, and one suffered minor injuries.
It was reported that some of those seriously injured are in critical condition.
There were 89 passengers on board the train, but no injuries among the passengers have been reported.
