Kiwoom Securities Extends "Collect More U.S. Stocks for Our Kids" Event
Kiwoom Securities announced on August 14 that it will extend its "Collect More U.S. Stocks for Our Kids" event, which began in May this year for minors, until October 31.
The "Collect More Stocks" service has gained popularity, surpassing 150,000 subscribers within just six months of its launch. Of these, minors account for 12%. The "Collect More Stocks" service allows users to automatically purchase U.S. stocks on a regular basis-daily, weekly, or monthly-from as little as 2,000 KRW. Notably, when using this service, both the purchase commission and the currency exchange fee for purchases are fully waived, enabling users to accumulate U.S. stocks consistently without worrying about fees.
Minors who participate in the event will receive a coupon worth 10,000 KRW, which can be used for recurring U.S. stock purchase orders. In addition, new account holders will receive an extra service coupon worth 90,000 KRW, while existing account holders will receive a coupon worth 20,000 KRW. Furthermore, sharing the event via KakaoTalk will allow participants to receive additional coupons ranging from a minimum of 10,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW.
Currently, the stocks most frequently accumulated by minor customers are leading U.S. ETFs suitable for long-term diversified investment, such as SCHD, QQQ, VOO, and QQQM, as well as high-growth technology stocks like Palantir (PLTR) and IonQ (IONQ). This reflects an investment tendency to include both stable index/dividend products and future growth industries.
A Kiwoom Securities representative stated, "This event is meaningful in that it supports asset building for children and helps them develop sound investment habits," adding, "It will provide an opportunity for parents and children to discuss investing together and experience a healthy investment culture."
Applications for the event and further details can be found on the official Kiwoom Securities website and the mobile app (Hero MTS#).
