The Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters will conduct a pilot operation of its KakaoTalk-based non-face-to-face emergency consultation service, "Jeonbuk 119 Consultation Chat," from August 18 to September 14.
According to the Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters on August 14, the "Jeonbuk 119 Consultation Chat" was established to improve access to 119 emergency services for socially vulnerable groups, including people with hearing or speech impairments.
This consultation service allows users to search for the channel name "Jeonbuk 119 Consultation Chat" on KakaoTalk, add it as a friend, and then use the chat function to receive hospital and clinic information, consult on first aid methods, and request ambulance dispatch. It is expected to provide practical assistance to approximately 23,000 people with hearing or speech impairments who have difficulty using traditional voice-based reporting.
During the pilot period, the Fire Headquarters will visit welfare centers for the disabled, organizations for people with disabilities, and administrative welfare centers across the province to promote the service and provide guidance on how to sign up. They will also actively collect user feedback on-site to further improve the service’s features, with plans to expand the service to all residents of the province in the future.
